You might have heard that Apple has a three-year redesign tradition, and the iPhone 15 is the device that marks the new start of that cycle. So, how different is the new iPhone series from the previous models? What are the new features users can enjoy?

Well, you might have read the news about the iPhone 15, and you might have noticed that it has a new shape, new colour options, and a new camera. But that’s not all. The iPhone 15 also has some noteworthy upgrades inside. Customers can now get the new iPhone 15 series from TELUS for Personal, TELUS EPP and Business use.

This article will show you what the iPhone 15 is all about in more detail and explain how it compares to the older models!

Available iPhone 15 Versions

The iPhone 15 comes in four different versions iPhone 15, Plus, Pro and Pro Max that cater to different user needs. The Pro Max is the biggest and most feature-packed version. The iPhone 15 and Plus versions are more affordable and simple but still have good performance and quality.

Besides the differences in size, they also have different specifications inside, such as the chip, the display, and the camera.

Appearance and Design

When it comes to the TELUS phone design, Apple keeps the contoured edges from the previous model. Nonetheless, it has made the edges softer to give users a more comfortable experience. A titanium material is used for the frame, making the device both robust and lightweight.

In terms of design, there is no obvious difference between each version. However, if you look closer, you will find metal texture on the Pro and Pro Max’s frame. And, you can see that the screen bezels on them are thinner when you compare them to the iPhone 15 and Plus versions.

There are fresh colour options for the iPhone 15. This time, the California-based decided to offer the same alternatives, with pink, yellow, green, and blue as the more striking options. Without a doubt, the classic black colour is still there.

Users of the Pro and Pro Max versions can also choose the colour of the titanium frame. The available options are blue, white, natural, and black. However, it is important to know that there is no PRODUCT (RED) option for this year’s iPhone release.

Screen and Camera

The Plus and Pro Max versions are the bigger varieties of the iPhone 15 and Pro versions. Therefore, it is natural that they have a bigger display. In this case, the two versions have a 6.7-inch display, while smaller versions have a 6.1-inch display.

Apple has also decided to give each version a different screen refresh rate. The 60 Hz is available on the iPhone 15 and Plus versions, and the 120 Hz is available on the Pro and Pro Max versions. But, while there are differences, each of them uses a Super Retina XDR OLED display.

When it comes to the camera category, the iPhone has improved in this one. Users can now use a 48-megapixel main camera. This, without a doubt, is a great thing to have, considering that older models only have a resolution of up to 12 megapixels.

The higher camera resolution also enables two-time optical zoom, which results in far superior outcomes than digital zoom. This is a significant improvement in the iPhone’s camera area, and it is the result of cropping the sensor’s central 12 megapixels.

Interestingly, Apple has set the iPhone 15 and Plus models to take 24-megapixel photos by default. According to the business, this decision will result in better and more detailed images. Nonetheless, this doesn’t apply to the Pro and Pro Max versions.

Because the iPhone 15 has a higher resolution main camera, it is expected that the photos it takes are larger in size. It is currently unclear how large the images are, but Apple claims that they will be saved in a manageable file size.

The inclusion of different focal length variations is another feature that sets the Pro and Pro Max cameras apart. The 24mm, 28mm, and 35mm lens lengths can all be found on the said iPhone versions, yet the 120mm is only available to Pro Max buyers.

Furthermore, the Pro version has a 3x zoom lens capability, while the Pro Max version has a 5x zoom lens capability. On top of that, the two iPhone 15 versions support spatial video recording, which may be put to use together with the Apple Vision Pro AR headset.

Device Performance and User Experience

Users may now effortlessly access a wide range of functions by using the newly designed and multifunctional Action Button. The ring/silent switch is still present. Ultimately, there is a Dynamic Island with an always-on feature that allows users to easily check essential details.

In terms of performance, the TELUS iPhone 15 and Plus models feature the same A16 bionic processor that powers the iPhone 14 Pro models. This tells us that they will operate as smoothly as those high-end smartphone devices.

The iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max versions, on the other hand, feature the A17 Pro processor. With this chip in its toolbox, these versions come with hardware-accelerated ray tracing capability, which can create impressive lighting effects when playing video games.

And, the current generation of iPhone is also the very first series that’s equipped with a USB-C port. In terms of charging speed, it only provides 18 to 20 W. However, data transfer speed can reach 480 Mbps for the iPhone 15 and Plus variants and 10 Gbps for the rest of the devices.

The Verdict: Is iPhone 15 Worth It?

Do you think that the iPhone 15 is a great phone to buy? The improvements made in this series are fresh, and they will certainly help a wide range of users. However, if you currently own an iPhone 14, you can continue to use it.
